The Three Crosses

At Calvary, three men hung on crosses. Though they shared the same physical suffering, their purposes and destinies were vastly different. Jesus was fulfilling His divine mission, the thief on the right found salvation through faith, while the thief on the left rejected grace and faced eternal loss. The crosses remind us that trials are inevitable, but our response determines our eternal outcome.
Core content
Jesus’ cross is a symbol of fulfilled prophecy and destiny (Isaiah 53:5; John 19:30). His suffering was redemptive, leading to resurrection and victory over death. The right-cross thief, though condemned; he recognized Jesus’ innocence and believed (Luke 23:40–43). His faith secured paradise. The left-cross thief mocked Jesus, showing unbelief and rejection of grace. His suffering had no redemptive end.

Summary

Like Jesus and the repentant thief, let us embrace the cross with faith and obedience, knowing that beyond the suffering lies resurrection, paradise, and eternal victory.
