Ruth’s story begins with tragedy; famine, migration, widowhood, and loss. Yet in the midst of trials, she chose loyalty, faith, and hope. Her journey shows us that hope is not the absence of pain, but the courage to trust God in the midst of it.

A. Trials Are Real
• Ruth 1:1–5: Famine, death, and widowhood marked Ruth’s beginning.
• Psalm 30:5: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Trials are part of life, but they are not the end of the story (Matthew 24:13).
B. Choosing Loyalty and Faith
• Ruth 1:16–18: Ruth’s declaration to Naomi is loaded with faith and loyalty: Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.
• Hope is expressed in loyalty to God and His people, even when the future is uncertain.
